Why CFS:

I originally took Intuitive Defensive Shooting and the Advanced Pistol Handling courses to further my own skill set. I walked away with some new ideas and began to make some fundamental changes in the way I taught other courses. In a counter ambush environment, CFS just made sense to me. It was at that point I decided to get certified as a CFS Instructor.

As an instructor, I have made changes over the years based on new information not only in my personal defensive attitude and lifestyle, but in the courses I teach. It is an instructor’s duty to share the best he / she has with the student. Several of the CFS concepts I was introduced to turned out to be some of those fundamental “best” things that drove my teaching to evolve regardless of the course.

As I continue to develop NRA Instructors, I pass on CFS Fundamentals and Concepts for them to share with their future students; everything from awareness, stance and grip, to pistol selection and skill development cycle. I use the Powered by CFS logo in my NRA Defensive Shooting Courses because CFS is the framework for that 3-4 hour Introduction to defensive shooting.

Intuitive Defensive Shooting offers education for life saving skills that everybody who intends to use a firearm in the defense of self or others needs to have. That is why I teach it. That is why I integrate those concepts in every course I teach. I am honored to join the cadre of CFS Instructors and teach Intuitive Defensive Shooting.
