The Reality-Based Training Instructor Development course is a 3-day program consisting of Classroom Sessions and Scenario Experiences. This program has been developed to provide an opportunity for those currently teaching defensive shooting to their students to take their courses to the next level by integrating efficient force-on-force training scenarios to complement classroom and live-fire range sessions. Military and Law Enforcement have been using Reality Based Training with Non-Lethal Training Ammunition ("marking cartridges") for many years. The time has come for these techniques and this technology to become part of mainstream defensive firearms instruction, but it must be done responsibly. This program takes advantage of over a decade of experience running RBT for students in military special operations & law enforcement as well as catering programs to civilian students for home & personal defense.

The Classroom Sessions and Scenario Experiences cover how to safely and responsibly conduct RBT Sessions, the Fundamental Concepts of RBT, as experiential learning principles. A detailed discussion of NLTA and RBT Protective Equipment and Safety Protocols will be part of these sessions. The course covers four specific personal/home defense scenarios. The scenarios have been developed to cover a wide variety of plausible circumstances applicable to any defensive firearms student and to be capable of being run in a short time with minimal equipment. After successfully completing the classroom sessions, scenario days and passing the test administered there, the student will be Certified as an RBT Instructor by I.C.E. Training Company and free to integrate these scenarios into their own programs and take advantage of the introductory gear offer from PDT Tech, the sponsors of this initiative.
