Intro to Defensive Focus Shooting

The Fundamentals of DFS is a one day course that will expose the student to all the core principles and fundamentals of the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting Program. This course will cover the basics of intuitive defensive shooting, Combat Accuracy, The Balance of Speed & Precision, an introduction to the understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident, understanding the integration of lateral motion and additional concepts as time allows. This Course will provide the student with an understanding of true Counter Ambush training with a defensive firearm, base level defensive shooting skills and a training methodology for continuing to develop those skills.
This course is one full day of intense training, teaching and practice. The course will cover the following topics:
Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting
Combat Accuracy & Efficiency
Lateral Movement
The Balance of Speed & Precision
Multiple Target Engagement
Understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident.
Non-Diagnostic Linear Malfunction Clearing
Materials
This is an Outdoor Range. You will need: a) A semi-automatic pistol – If you do not have one, I have a few 9mm available for rent. b) 3-5 magazines, magazine Carrier & holster (strong side or appendix) c) Eye and Ear Protection d) 250-300 Rounds of ammo – Reloaded is OK e) Lunch & Water, Sports Drink f) Proper dress for the weather, sun block, bug spray, gravel surface range, etc.
